Powerful editing tool for creating technical documents

MathType is a powerful interactive equation editor for Windows and Macintosh that lets you create mathematical notation for word processing, web pages, desktop publishing, presentations, and for TeX, LaTeX, and MathML documents. MathType works with 100s of applications and websites, allowing you to put Equations Everywhere and Anywhere™.
While many MathType users create equations for Microsoft Word documents and PowerPoint presentations, MathType also works with many, many other applications and websites:

Moving 32-bit Mac Apps to Catalina - About 25 MB of available hard disk space: MathMagic Personal Edition for Macintosh - Intel Macintosh (PowerPC version available separately) - Mac OS X 10.6 or later including 10.14 Mojave (Currently, we do not have a fixed schedule to release 64-bit versions of MathMagic for macOS 10.15 Catalina.
Apple’s latest Mac update, macOS Catalina, was released earlier this week, and with it came a flurry of complications both minor and major. For one, this update is the first for Apple to drop 32.
MathType's Fonts. The following table lists MathType’s fonts. We’ve also listed Symbol although this font is only installed by MathType on Mac (MathType for Windows uses the Symbol font built into Windows). MathType's fonts are supplied in both TrueType and PostScript Type 1 format.

Version 12 of Mathematica is required for Catalina. Users have reported problems with copy & paste in celss with manual grouping. If you rely on that feature you better stay with Mathematica 11 and macOS Mojave. MathType for Office Tools is compatible with macOS versions up to Mojave 10.14. It is not compatible with 64-bit versions such as macOS Catalina or Big Sur. Our team is working exhaustively to release a new MathType compatible with the latest MacOS, by August 2021.

Since Microsoft Equation Editor 3.0 is no longer distributed with Microsoft Office, get MathType 7 to continue editing and working with equations in Microsoft Office

Now supports Microsoft Office 2016, 2013 and Office 365:
- Office 2013 and Office 365: MathType 6.9 is fully compatible with Office 2013 and Office 365 installed on Windows 7, 8 and 10.
- Office 2010, 2007, 2003, and XP: MathType 6.9 is fully compatible.
- Office Web Apps, Office Mobile, and Office RT: MathType equations cannot be edited in these Office versions but equations created in other versions of Office will display and print.
- Office 32- and 64-bit: MathType 6.9 is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit versions of Office.
Compatibility with 700+ applications and websites: Connexions, Desire2Learn, Stack Exchange, and 73+ other applications and websites join Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, Adobe InDesign, and hundreds of others that work with MathType! MathPage now supports MathJax: Our MathPage™ technology now has the option to publish your Word documents as web pages with MathML equations displayed using MathJax technology.
Windows 8 compatibility: MathType 6.9 works on Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, and XP operating systems. MathType is not compatible with Windows RT.

MathType 6.9 equations are compatible with MathType 6.x and 5.x equations so you can continue to work with other MathType users even if they haven't upgraded yet. When you upgrade to MathType 6.9 any changes you've made in your installed version of MathType, including keyboard shortcuts, toolbars, preferences, etc. will be retained.
